There are other buildings included in the Busch Estate tour that I didn’t talk about in my recent St. Louis Magazine article on the mansion.
I forgot to take a picture of the pool house, but the children’s play house, located west of the “Big House,” certainly ranks as one of the more unique and larger-sized play sets.
Gertrude Buholzer missed her home of Switzerland, so her husband, Gussie Busch, built a chapel reminiscent of churches in the Helvetic tradition. Dedicated to St. Hubert, the patron saint of hunters, it appropriately sits at the base of the hill near the boundaries of the deer park.
